From Deconstruction to Reconstruction

Welcome all. This is the first post on our newly created blog. This is also our first blog. Basically we're here to show the progress made on our four bedroom 98.4m² (1059 ft²) apartment in Germany. We bought the apartment in November and moved in in December, and with luck by the end of the first week of March we'll have a working kitchen.

Our apartment is in a 6 storish Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) building in Fürth, Germany. Built in 1909 and recently rennovated as a whole, the individual apartments were left to the owners, or new owners like us.

There is lots to do, and we're learning that while deconstruction sounds fun, its often only another way of saying unpleasent surprise. Especially when the former renters/owners didn't believe much in standards or building codes...
